Recruiting/Training/Communications Specialist

The Recruiting/Training/Communications Specialist is responsible for recruiting the best fit candidates for the firmís open positions, onboarding them, and helping to train current employees to maintain and improve the productivity and growth of the organization. This position assesses firm-wide developmental needs to drive recruiting and training initiatives. This person will also identity, prepare, coordinate, and present appropriate training solutions for employees firm wide. This position actively searches, innovatively designs and implements effective methods to educate and enhance performance of employees in their defined roles.




  • Collaborates  with the HR Manager in order to produce and lead effective recruiting, training and communication programs and materials.
  • Obtains and/or develops effective recruiting, training and communication materials utilizing a variety of media, working with the firmís Marketing Department and/or vendors.
  • Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for recruiting and training events.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
  • Builds relationships and works effectively as a team member with candidates, employees, third-party vendors and consultants, members of management and the HR staff.
  • Develops recruiting, training and communication schedules and maintains deadlines.
  • Develops and retains employees by providing outstanding service and support.
  • Uses computer systems and tools such as applicant tracking and HRIS software to perform job duties.
  • Attend and present at career fairs, trainings, meetings, presentations, and other HR-related events
  • Conducts research, as needed.
  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks that support the overall mission of quality performance, service and support.
  • Other assigned duties.

Recruiting Duties:


  • Manages the entire recruiting and on-boarding process.
  • Asks the appropriate questions of the hiring managers when opening a new      requisition.
  • Analyzes resumes accurately.
  • Responds and follow-up with candidates efficiently.
  • Conducts phone screening, interviews, candidate reference checks, and testing, as      required.
  • Works with outside recruiters, when necessary, to identify and obtain qualified      candidates for key positions.


Training Duties:


  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
  • Proposes training and development programs and objectives.
  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development      efforts.
  • Responsible for creating, implementing and leading all new hire training during the      on-boarding process.
  • Responsible for designing, executing, and instructing required core training and      position-specific training for all employees on an annual basis, and on an      as-needed basis.
  • Responsible for educating all employees on new procedures and programs on an as-needed      basis.
  •  Administers and/or coordinates quality training programs and modifies programs, as needed.


Communication Duties: 


  • Develops and maintains organizational communications to ensure employees have      knowledge of events, programs and resources.
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure      results.
  • Provides recruiting, training and communication reports to management and communicates      with employees and management on outstanding items, as needed.
  • Assists HR Manager with communications in a variety of areas, as needed, such as      annual performance reviews, benefit explanations, etc.



  •  Proven successful track record with HR, recruiting, training, development and communications.
  •  Capable of recruiting, training, and supporting a diverse workforce.
  •  Possess outstanding written & verbal communication skills.
  •  Business development skill and business savvy.
  •  Possess excellent time management and organizational skills.
  •  Must be proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and other relevant computer programs.

This position has no immediate supervisory responsibilities, at this time.


This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role requires frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works outside the office and may be exposed to outside weather conditions. This position may include occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.


This position may risk exposure to bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.


This is a full-time position. The typical work days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some night and weekend work will be required at times.


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel by various modes of transportation will be required according to the needs of the business and to serve multiple offices for the firm, when and as-needed. Must have a valid driverís license and vehicle.


  •  At least 5 years of experience in the HR, recruiting, communications, business or related field is preferred.
  •  Bachelor's degree
